This is a collection of records, correspondence, newsclippings, notes, rosters, reports, and photographs which document the history of Fort Campbell and the units which served and trained there. Much of the material relates to the 101st Airborne Division including photographs and rosters from the World War II and Vietnam eras; organizational history files; and information on the unit's involvement in the siege at Bastogne, and in Little Rock in 1957.

Historical note: The First Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division was sent to Vietnam in 1965. It was the third United States Army unit to arrive. In December of 1967, the remainder of the division was deployed to Bien Hoa, South Vietnam in Operation Eagle Thrust. The 101st was the only army division ever airlifted directly into combat.
